How busy am I? Photography has become my life!

So I haven't been updating this blog very often lately, but I will be adding new photos from this coming weekend from the photo sessions.  I am working on a number of projects in my classes, so soon I will be able to post some to share with you!

I am seeking adult subjects who would like to be part of a school project.  I am using a 4x5 film camera in the studio in Manchester NH.  Here is an example (this is scanned film, but the project itself will be printed traditionally) of what the portraits I am doing.

Contact me via phone

Ok, so I am having email issues AGAIN... only some are getting through and the contact form on my website seems to be broken. I am trying to resolve this. In the meantime, please call me directly at 603-203-5569 and leave a message because emails of any kind may not reach me.

Some are probably wondering...

...what my senior project is all about... here is an example of the type of photo I will be using. I need children ages 4 to about 8, 9 or 10 (depending on the child), and all I need them to do for me is to play, and allow me to follow them around with my camera following slight directions.  I will be needing all different activities, such as jump rope, sledding, jumping in leaves, riding a bike, picking apples, playing tag or running, playing catch, hop scotch, climbing trees, building a snowman... anything that is a typical or classic childhood outdoor activity.  It will be so much fun! You will be invited to the exhibit in May!! Yay!

What is your passion in life?

It's tough being a full time student at my age- I am glad I am finishing this before I become a wife and mother, or I would never see the day of graduation! It is hard because of the fact that I have to force myself to keep my business and my school at the same level of importance- because they are equally important at this time in my life, and because they are equally important in my heart. I am in class all day all week, when I get home each day I am so mentally and physically drained with all of the projects dancing around in my head. By the time the end of the week is here, I am in business mode, but also have a pile of projects and assignments to get done for my six classes. Oh yeah, and then there is family and a personal life. Yeah right. I am thankful though, for having this great opportunity to earn my BFA in Photography, and have my business blossoming before I even get my degree! How many people are able to say they started their career before they walked on Graduation day? It's all about being driven, having extreme ambition, and really listening to your heart by following your true passion. I highly recommend it!

Senior Project

So I have decided on my senior project... hopefully it won't change... but I am looking for willing parents of children ages 2 or 3 through age 6 or 7 to let me photograph their child(ren) for the project. The photographs will not show any identity of the children (no faces), so you don't have to worry about that. Please contact me, 603-203-5569 of you are interested in helping me out (and live in the Londonderry-ish area). I will be looking for subjects throughout the year... through fall, winter and spring, starting asap.

Thank you!

Website update!

I am happy to say that by mid-december I will have a new and improved website by me! The entire thing will get a makeover, and the pricing structure may also be changed. I am so excited and really look forward to being in control of the design. I will announce the date when it gets closer. Yay!

Survival

I survived my first three days of classes! The projects ahead of me are dancing around in my head, it's unbelievable! I am so excited!! It is so nice to have excuses to be working on different photography projects, I love it!! In one of my classes I will be working with a 4" x 5" view camera, which is something I have never even touched before... so grateful to have this opportunity!

Since this is my last year, I will be working on a senior project... a project that will be exhibited during graduation in May... so I will be brainstorming different ideas, but the main subject that I am basing it off of will be children/families, so if anyone would like to volunteer their child(ren)/family to be a part of a project, step up!! I will be photographing several subjects, so tell your friends!! I am not sure about the details and I will be playing with a lot of ideas over the course of several weeks.

P.S.- I am still booking for the fall and winter, so contact me anytime to schedule a session!!

Just an FYI

I am writing to let everyone know that I am entering my senior year, (starting tomorrow) so if you are looking to get in touch with me during the week the best way will be through email. Because of the nature of my school and studies, I will be available to view and respond to email throughout the day. Feel free to call me anytime, as I will be able to get messages...but the best way for me to get back to you asap will be to leave your email address in your message.

Another reminder that my semester schedule will be getting full fast, so if you are interested in fall or winter sessions please book them asap! Remember that you can view an up to date calendar of my availability on the bottom of this blog site.

Thanks! :)

Yesterday's session

I had a session with a little boy...I had forgotten how much energy older boys have!! We just let him play while I chased him with my lens. He didn't seem to notice me too much-- then we noticed he knew he was the center of attention and the lens was all on him-- which he seemed to take full advantage of with his moves and expressions. He was such a good kid! Here are my favorites from the session!
